Admission Policy

Trinity Lutheran School admits students of any race, color, sex, or national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, or national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Trinity Lutheran School does, however, reserve the right to admit students based on their religious affiliation.  The following is the order of admission for families based on their religious preferences:

  1. Members of Trinity Lutheran Church - Reed City

  2. Students enrolled the previous year or siblings.

  3. Members of LCMS Churches without schools.

  4. Mission Prospects (No church membership).

  5. Members of other Christian church bodies.

Committed, practicing members of non-Christian faiths will normally not be admitted to our school unless they are considered to be mission prospects.

Tuition and Fees

Preschool students pay a registration fee of $75.00 per student.  All K - 8 school families pay a registration fee of $300.00 per enrolled student.  Half of the school registration fee and all of the preschool fee is non-refundable.

Technology fees are $50.00 per student in grades  K-4 and $100.00 per student in grades 5-8.  Students in grades 5-8 are issued a personal Chromebook for their time at Trinity and get to keep it upon graduation from our school.

Registration & tech fees must be paid in full by final registration in August.

All families pay fees and tuition for enrollment in our preschool.

Trinity Lutheran member families are not charged a specific tuition fee for enrollment in the day school.  Rather they are expected to be a part of the education commitment program which entails total involvement of our member families in the life of the church and school.  Member families commit themselves to weekly church attendance, regular attendance at Communion and Bible Study, volunteering of time and talents in the church and school, and ten-percent proportionate giving to the offerings of the church.

Non-member families enrolled in our school are charged a tuition because their congregations do not contribute to the support of our Christian day school.  However, our congregation also subsidizes a large portion of the cost of non-member students.

Following are the annual 2024-25 tuition fees for students:

Preschool (All Families)

  • $850 - 3-Year Olds (Tuesdays & Thursdays ~ 8:05-10:45 a.m.)

  • $1150 - 4-Year Olds (Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays ~ 8:05 - 11:15 a.m.)

Day School (Non-member Families)

  • $3600 - 1st Child

  • $1800 - 2nd Child

  • $0 - 3rd & 4th Child

  • $900 - 5th child and above

Non-members who qualify for reduced-price or free lunches will be given a $400 or $800 reduction in 1st child rates.  Non-members with no church home who are prospects for Trinity membership will be given a reduced rate of $500 per family for their first year of enrollment.  Fees return to regular rates if they choose not to join.

Tuition Assistance

Trinity offers multiple assistance opportunities.  In order to be eligible for any assistance, each family must fill out and apply through the FACTS program AND must fill out and apply for the Free and Reduced Lunch program offered through the public schools.  Both of these programs use non-discriminatory measures to validate the need for assistance.  Upon both programs affirming the need for assistance, families will be eligible for the following tuition discounts:

Qualified for reduced lunch - up to $400 discount per family

Qualified for free lunch - up to $800 discount per family

Trinity also receives undetermined donations throughout the year to help support families with tuition costs.  These donations will be spread out equally between all eligible families as they are received.
