From the Principal - This Sunday is a great day in the life of the church.  Pentecost is the day we remember the coming of the Holy Spirit to the disciples fifty days after Jesus rose from the dead, ten days after His Ascension.  We talked about the evidences of the Holy Spirit in chapel this week.

According to the Apostle Paul in I Corinthians 13 the greatest evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives is love.  He lists that even above faith.  We see love shown every day in our church and school.  This past year has been one of the most pleasant ones in my teaching career.  The students in our upper grades have shown the type of leadership we hope for from them by their desire to work hard and the kindness they show to each other and particularly to our younger students.  True Christian love is what should distinguish us from people who do not have the Holy Spirit.  It is a gift from God not anything we can claim.

Thank you all for making our last year here a wonderful ending to our teaching careers.

Fun Night - Thanks to everyone who helped with Field Day and Fun Night activities, especially our PTL Board members.

Birthday Celebrations - We celebrated the birthdays of Hannah Thorstenson, Jeralyn Hoppes, Zachary Schneidt, and Donny Bianchi this week in chapel.  No baptism birthdays this week.  Next week we will celebrate all the summer baptisms and birthdays.

Prayer Families - Our prayer family this week is the family of Breanna (Gr. 8) Giese.  Please pray for her family at home as well.

Bake Sale - Bake sales are over for the year.

Chapel Offerings - Next Friday is our last chapel service and offering for the year.  We will not have chapel on Wednesday as the calendar indicates.

Lunch Helpers!  We are in need of a couple lunch servers for next school year. It would only be once a week and takes about 1 1/2 hours to do.  If you are interested, please contact Jacquie as soon as possible.

Field Day Results - We hope to have our field day results in next Friday’s newsletter.

Lunch Ticket Notice - Make sure you don’t overbuy lunch tickets at the end of the year, particularly if you have an eighth grader who won’t be here next year.  Mrs. London gave you the number of remaining days to help gauge your purchase.  Returning students’ tickets with punches remaining will be passed on to next year’s teacher.

Report Cards - Please remember that report cards cannot be issued to families who owe fees of any kind.  Please make sure that all library materials or school books are returned to the school.  Report Cards will be available in the school office after Wednesday, June 2.

Fee Payments - Most of our families have already paid all their tuition for the past year.  The last payment for those who still have fees remaining is Friday, June 4.  Please note above that those fees must be paid in full to receive a report card for your child.

From the PTL – Fun Night was a great success once again.  We brought in approximately $1300 minus some expenses.  The basket auction took in $932 (minus the price of a basket which came up missing at the church over Mother’s Day weekend).  Thank you parents for all your donations that help make this event more profitable.  We also appreciate all of the baked goods that the congregation brought in for our Cake Walk.  We didn’t run out this year!!!  Special thanks to Amy Wirick and Ronda Wallace for their help in setting up and tearing down.  The three of us had a lot of work to do, but seeing the kids having a great time makes it all worth it.  Looking forward to next year, Melissa Nelson

Baby Shower!  We are having a baby shower for Mrs. Rohde next Sunday, May 23rd after the Bible study hour.  Please plan to come!

Library Closing!  Our school library is now closed and new books cannot be checked out.  All outstanding books should have been turned in today.  If you have any at home, please make sure you bring them back on Monday.

Smith Retirement Party!  Please mark Sunday, June 13th on your calendars.  That is the day we will be having a party to celebrate the time both Jim & Anne Smith have given to our family here at Trinity.  We are sad to see them retire, but wish them God’s blessings in all they do!

Pantry Shower!  With Pastor Potter and Mrs. Prange arriving sometime in July, we would like to help them fill their pantry shelves with non-perishable food items.  Two tables will be set up in the choir room at the church for all donations.  You may start bringing them in as early as this weekend!
