ALTAR FLOWERS for this weekend are given by David Jehnzen in memory of Iris.

BIBLE STUDY!  The Tuesday morning Bible Study at Marie Keller’s home will start back up on Tuesday, September 7th beginning at 9:30 a.m.  All are welcome to join us.  If you have any questions, please contact Marie.

CHOIR BEGINS!  Calling all those who love to sing to the Lord!  Our first choir practice of the season will be Wednesday, September 8th beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the classroom at the church.  We will see you there!

EDUCATION SUNDAY will be on Sunday, September 19th at Albright Camp.  Our worship service will begin at 9:00 a.m. followed by a pot-“Bless” dinner.  Please bring a dish or two to pass for the meal.  After the pot-bless many activities are available for the whole family.  Volleyball & basketball courts are open along with archery, horseshoes, swimming pool, etc.  For $5.00 per person you can rent canoes or tubes and go for a 2 hour ride down the river!  Come and enjoy a day with us!  See you there!

T-SHIRTS FOR SALE!  This is the last week we will be selling our school theme “One Way” t-shirts to anyone wishing to purchase one.  They come in both short & long sleeves and will come in black or pink!  We will be taking orders until Friday, September 10th in the school office.  Order forms are available on the table in the narthex.  Please turn in your money with the order.

MONDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY ~ For all who have an hour of free time on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m., please come to share and dig with us, for the rich gems of Scripture as portrayed in the book of Romans.  One of the richest and best known is:  “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord Jesus Christ” Ch. 15:1.  With the help of the Holy Spirit, we’ll explore what these mean for us and how they affect our everyday lives.  We meet up at the church in the conference room.  See you there, Marge Giese

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD!  If you wish to participate in Operation Christmas Child there will be wrapped shoeboxes in the narthex ready to be filled starting September 11, 2010.  Inside the boxes will be instructions and ideas.  Your completed boxes should be returned to the church no later than November 7th.  Thank you, and may God bless you for helping to bring joy to needy children this Christmas.

YOUNG AT HEART!  Anyone over the age of 55 or retired, who finds himself/herself wanting to warm, expand, enrich and invigorate the affairs of his/her heart in regards to worship and fellowshipping with other cool Christian hearts – do we have some hearted times booked for you!!!  We’re excited to get back to our first fall fiesta.  Putting a number of heads together, we came up with some new ideas for our year’s activities and know that you’ll bring some of your own that we might implement or table for another time.  So, please come with your favorite luncheon dish to pass and your own table service, on Monday, September 13th at 12:00 noon, where after sharing our food, we’ll then share and solidify our year’s agenda.  Beverages will be provided.  Any questions, call Marge Giese at 832-2171

SING A NEW SONG!  The Dorcas Guild invites the women of Trinity to join us for our 7th annual women’s mini-retreat to be led by Barbara Hoffmeier at Chapel of the Lakes Lutheran Church, Saturday, September 18, 2010.  “Sing to the Lord” is the theme for this year’s retreat, based on Psalm 98:1.  Registration is $15 and includes continental breakfast and lunch.  See the welcome center in our narthex for registration forms.

ARE YOU INTERESTED???  We are looking for a couple who would be willing to help co-direct our Youth Group for Trinity Lutheran Church & School.  If you, or someone you know is interested, please contact Glen Boprie or Karen Dailey by September 9th.

FRIDAY MORNING BREAKFAST BIBLE STUDY!  H & D Chuckwagon on Hwy 10 offers its backroom and winsome waitresses to accommodate any and all “early-risers” on September 10th at 6:30 a.m. to start their Friday mornings with spiritual as well as physical food for the day.  We succeeded in digesting the first 49 Psalms by the time we recessed in June, but will now continue to share in the “Bread of Life” as served in the rest of the Psalms.  So if you find that you can’t sleep in, or if your alarm clock continues to annoy you, in any case, we’d love to have you come share the spread.

MEMORIAL SERVICE for Milly Dibble will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Reed City on Saturday, September 11th beginning at 1:00 a.m.   Milly passed away in Mesa, AZ on August 16, 2010.  Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Trinity Lutheran Church.

HARVEST TABLE!  It is that time of year when we set up our harvest table in the narthex.  If you have extra produce from your garden please donate it to the table, and if you are a family that would like a couple of the donated items, please feel free to help yourself!

CHECK IT OUT… from your church library! You’ll find everything from Bible stories for beginner readers to commentaries for the studious Bible scholar; and something for everyone in between. We are grateful for all the generous donations made to the library; most recently we’ve been blessed with a series of DVD’s from the Mayo Clinic. These provide all kinds of reference material for a healthy lifestyle like managing blood thinners, how to quit smoking, preventing a stroke, and keeping your balance. Check out all the great video and text resources available for you and your loved ones in our church library.

BULLETIN NOTES!  Please have all items that you would like to have printed in the weekend bulletin turned into Jacquie by Wednesday mornings.  You can easily submit your notes by emailing them to admin@trinitylutheran-rc.org

STATEMENT of FAITH and PRACTICE

Regarding HOLY COMMUNION

As a congregation of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, we believe that Holy Communion is a divinely instituted sacrament in which Jesus Christ grants to the communicant His true body and blood, in, with and under the bread and wine.  We invite all who are confirmed Lutherans, who have repented of their sins, and trust in Jesus’ words, “given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins;” to commune with us.  Those who are members of other Christian congregations and desire to attend Holy Communion are asked to speak with an Elder or with the Pastor, prior to the service.

Stewardship Corner

Our mission as stewards is to view life as an opportunity to serve, praise, and honor the Lord.  God-pleasing stewardship has to do with being what God in Christ has made us and redeemed us to be: His servants.  “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10).  By grace through faith we have been saved to do the works God has prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:8-10).
